About Edexcel IAL Accounting past papers
This page holds 58 question papers and 55 mark schemes for IAL Accounting, covering 29 exam sittings from 2015 to 2025. Every paper is free to open, with no account and no download limit, and each one sits beside its mark scheme so you can mark your own work the way an examiner would. The most recent sitting here is January 2025.
The units covered are U1, U2, P1 and P2. Papers appear under more than one specification code — ACC1, ACC2, WAC11, WAC12, WAC01 and WAC02 — because the qualification has been revised during this period. Older papers remain useful: most of the subject content carries over, and the extra practice is worth more than a tidy archive. Each paper is labelled with its own code so you can see which generation it belongs to.
Papers here come from the January, May, June, October and November series — about 2.6 sittings a year across the 11 years covered, which is why there is usually a recent paper available whichever session you are entered for. 3 of the question papers here do not yet have their mark scheme beside them; the rest are complete pairs. If you need one of the missing schemes, tell us and it usually goes up within a few days.
Revising Accounting
IAL Accounting is examined in units, and the format of an answer is part of the answer.
Financial statements must follow the expected layout. Marks attach to the structure as well as the figures, so practise producing complete, properly headed statements rather than isolated calculations.
The later units add interpretation: ratio analysis, and explaining what the numbers mean for the business. That written element is where students who are comfortable with the bookkeeping often lose ground, because it is a different skill.
When a statement does not balance, work the difference rather than restarting — halve it and look for a figure on the wrong side.
